Finally Scioscia goes back to Calhoun leading off. The thing no one could figure out why he changed it in the first place. Only took a couple months for him to realize it and change it back. Took everybody else in the world about two or three games.

Johnny G is still "sick" with some as-yet-undisclosed illness.

This move probably should've been made months ago.  Giavotella has given the Angels a decent batting average, and nothing else in the way of SB, XBH, OBP or defense.  The result has been a replacement level player.  But I will give him this, the man is CLUTCH. 

 

But if the Angels want an all offense, no defense option to play 2B, they'd have been MUCH better off rolling with Grant Green.  Green would likely equal Giavotella's BA and OBP, or even surpass them.  He has more pop in his bat, and is equally terrible defensively.
