Angels Playoff Preview fom SB Nation: "Call it a crisis of leadership"

Why are we supposed to read something about the Angels on a White Sox blog?

This comment amused me though

It's one of the reasons I've envied the Angels since '05

They get some homegrown players (Aybar, Trout, Weaver, Calhoun), they go out and spend big on FAs (Pujols, Wilson), they make decent trades (Street, Santiago) and they fill around with solid role players. Add in that they have a good manager and I wish Renisdorf could just trade the franchises and have the Chicago Angels of Cook County.

Interesting to see the perspective of other team's fans regarding the Angels....well in this case, one fan's perspective

The DiPoto forced to resign bit is such a stupid narrative.

word on the street is that Dipoto took off because of his interaction with Pujols and not because of anything that Scioscia did.

This narrative was confirmed by Hawk Harrelson today, who spent about 8 minutes talking about the history and the internal politics of the Angels organization instead of calling the game.

We literally have a minimum of three people that post regularly on this board that have better internal knowledge of this team and its front office than Hawk does. So forgive me if I don't take his word as the gospel.

I take these things from this thread:

"Elsewhere in the infield, everyone's favorite storm chaser Conor Gillaspie is filling in for the injured David Freese at third base. Despite a hot start upon arrival in Anaheim, he's significantly cooled off and is back to performing like the guy we knew in Chicago. Marginally more successful has been Royals castoff Johnny Giavotella, who believe it or not has been starting at second base for the Angels essentially all year.  While his bat is adequate at the keystone, UZR considers him the worst-fielding starter there in the majors."

I concur

As far as HAWK...he make Homer Gubi sound like Dick Enberg
