Why is Scoscia held unaccountable ??

The one  constant, good and bad, in the organization over the past decade is Scoscia. Of late. we watch him game after game glance at his clipboard before he transmits his brilliant hand signals....you know.....index finger to right ear, left ear, then the chin, then the forehead and finally the nose.....only to see us squander another scoring opportunity. We all know what happens next. He makes another note to his clipboard and nothing changes. Long term contract notwithstanding, Scoscia shouldn't be off limits to a realgood butt chewing from Arte. Perhaps now would be a good time.

I don't even have the energy to argue this post and I kinda like to argue.

He'll never be held accountable under Arte removes him lips from Scioscia's ass.  We all know Arte loves him and since Arte has the baseball IQ of a peanut, he probably even takes orders from Scioscia, so who can hold Scioscia accountable when he's practically the one in command of the organization?

Mike Scioscia is of the leader in that clubhouse and all players new and old will look up to him at some point before their career is over. He has respect from players and coaches and front office and when a decision is of importance everyone looks to Mike for his opinions on these matters.

-Jose Mota, probably.

Arte never got the memo that managers are hired to be fired. Especially on large payroll clubs. I don't think ANY manager has ever received more than a 5 year contract, let alone a 10 year one.

Yeah and if they bring up about how he cannot be fired due to length of contract is silly cause the Ducks fired Caryle with 2-3 years remaining on his contract with 2-3 mill per season being paid to caryle.

It isn't impossible, but it is a significant deterrent. The money that you're talking about wouldn't touch Scioscia's deal, which has a salary escalation clause in it. Scioscia is owed $6M per season for 2016-2018. He can opt out after 2015, but he would be an idiot to do it unless he has a deal in hand for at least $6M per season.

Interesting.

The Ducks finances are alot less rich than the Angels, they did it even considering they would have to pay their new coach similar money.

Yep. Scioscia from a strict Adam Smith economist point of view would be best off trying to provoke Moreno to fire him so that he could collect the remainder of money due on his contract without even having to show up for work. He could get supplemental income as a sports broadcaster, or consulatant or whatever then return to managing at another club in 2019. I don't expect he'd do that in reality, but there is no incentive for him not to.
