When I first heard the story this morning, it seemed odd to me that the police were investigating if the only issue were whether his story about trying to save his nephew were true. There is much more to this than what we have been told.

Seems his teammate called him out. Someone mentioned how only one teammate tweeted about his "hero" story, whereas if it had been true, they would have all been talking him up.

It was brought up on the Cal board what a load of crap it was that somebody on ESPN would call USC a clown college like that. The fact of the matter is that NOBODY on ESPN would dare say something like that about an SEC school in a similar situation, and despite my exterior rivalry driven disdain for USC, SC is academically superior to each SEC school sans Vanderbilt. They'd be waxing on about tradition and how it's an aberration and that they'd be working hard on rectifying the situation.

Screw ESPN.

...and USC, of course.

this morning they were reporting that he was not involved in any criminal activity but that his gf may have been a victim. still plenty of details to come out. no word yet if al and jesse are on the 7:00 flight out of chicago tonight.

USC is a really good school.

 

They are a good academic school.  Their academic requirements for football players is the same as SEC schools and they fill their schedules with remedial math, film and lunch like the SEC schools.  There isn't a big difference.

The point is that hiring black people didn't make you not racist. Lots of racists hire and work with minorities. Pointing out that Sark hires abd works with black people didn't prove he isn't racist.
