Would you trade Shoemaker for Price?

I think I'm starting to understand why Hamilton went back to the drugs.

Even in spite of his recent poor streak, I still would not have given up Shoemaker (plus likely other prospects) to get a few months of Price. Midseason rental trades are almost always a bad idea unless two things are true:

1. The team is almost certainly going to win the division
2. The team has a deep farm system and can afford to lose some prospects.

Both of these are false in the case of the Angels.

Price would have just end up losing all of his games 2-1 or no decisions if he throws a shutout.
