Orange County Register: A new approach for Angels Matt Joyce

I think if the organization can't make a reasonable trade for LF, then they almost have to go with a platoon of Robertson and Navarro.  Unfortunately, neither one has much power.

Maybe Joyce needs to take a page from Ty Cobb.

When Cobb was in a slump (which wasn't often) he would imagine driving the ball right back down the pitcher's throat. He said that got him out of slumps better than anything else.

Oh, but that would make Yordano the dummo Ventura mad. We don't make pitchers mad. Edited by Angel Oracle

i'm sure this is nothing new to joyce or any hitting coach at any level. hitting the ball up the middle is the foundation of all hitting instruction. at this point, joyce is either just "running bad" or has the yips. he just needs to rebuild his swing, it's possible that he's lost a bit of quickness or eyesight due to age. pure conjecture, but if that were the case, then rebuild your swing to suit your present needs.
