Tropeano starting today?

Recommended Posts

Not ready. Scioscia loves hits vets, Weav most of all. It wouldn't matter if activating Weav meant banishing Richards to AAA, Scioscia would still do it. It matters very little that Weav is probably the 7th best option for the rotation right now.

If he could be on the mound, Scioscia and Weav's competitive spirit would make sure he's there. I'm sure he'll be back next week and Tropeano will either sit in AAA purgatory again or he'll be pitching in the majors for a different team.

Because Weav isn't ready and they wanted to keep everyone on a consistent schedule. Also because Tropeano is better than Shoemaker, Weaver and is likely the Angels 3rd or 4th best starter, even though they have him stashed in AAA.

If this is the case, why on earth did the Astros--our main division rival--agree to give us a backup catcher and a mid rotation starting pitcher, both under club control for years, in exchange for Hank Conger?

Because they wanted to trade for Kazmir a few months later.

Because they think they are smarter than they actually are.  It's a common problem, both with teams and posters.

The Astros liked him, but felt his upside wasn't as high as McCullers, Vazquez or Appel and they felt Conger's offensive upside hadn't yet been realized and that his pitch framing ability would be better utilized on their squad.

Perez was just a throw in. The Angels were one catcher short after the trade, so Houston had to send him to get the deal done.

Everyone universally agrees the Angels came away as the clear winners in that one.

I think you should really consider taking a vacation soon. You're losing it, Scotty.

Well Scotty, as long as you don't expect people to take you serious when you try to sell yourself as an inside source and scout, and then come up with nonsense about Sosh would put Richards back in AAA if it was the only way to get Weaver in the rotation. When you say silly stuff like that you come across unprofessional or like a jilted lover.

Someone offers a differing opinion from yours and suddenly, that person has lost it. Yeah, ok Lou.

No, it's your " banishing Richards to AAA" and "Tropeano will sit in a AAA purgatory..." hyperbole that leads me to that conclusion

The jig is up on the whole "inside source and scout" thing.
