I would've hoped in this day and age that the organizers would've had a drone up looking for sharks before the event...  I would have to think that having his board and competitive mentality helped save the day; that shark looked like it was hungry with that sneak-attack.

IIRC another surfer, in competition, was bumped at that same spot five or so years earlier. South Africa's no joke when it comes to knowing who belongs at the top spot of the ocean food chain.

Ive been shark diving a few times, and it was awesome. Makes you really appreciate how good of ambush hunters sharks are.

On another note, as i type this im watching the ending of jaws 4.....hooooooooly sh*t is this movie bad. How did they get michael caine to agree to do it?
