Orange County Register: Angels Notes: Three new Hall of Famers, job changes clarified

Mathis was home grown. Kendrick. Aybar. Edmonds. Anderson. Finley. Weaver.

What were they doing in 1993? At the time it was a completely different franchise. He was the first real position player they had produced and developed in years. The precursor to the team that won in '02.

Witt was pretty much the staff ace in the mid 80s, and led the staff in the '86 season in particular.  Also the only Angel to pitch a perfect game - and while he wasn't exactly the Ryan express, he wasn't an unknown either.  An argument could be made that he'd get in even without his perfecto - but the perfecto probably clinched it.

Well deserved. Like someone else said, it's kinda funny seeing Salmon with Witt and Chance...they should have grouped this induction differently.

Watered down. Now. Sorry I know how much you guys love to jock Salmon. Trout's numbers will dwarf Timmy's in maybe half the time.

I'm not sure I understand your point here.  What does Trout's potential numbers in a hypothetical future have to do with Salmon and his actual performance with the Angels?

Witt had the nastiest curveball...

Chance had a dream 1964 season, but otherwise was a decent/solid and not great pitcher with the Halos before being dealt to Minnesota for Don Mincher and Jimmie Hall before the 1967 season.    Should one great season put you into a team's HOF?

Witt was solid his first two seasons (1981-1982) and in 1987, and very good from 1984-1986 (3rd in 1986 AL Cy Young balloting), but otherwise was average.

Should 109 wins along with 3 solid seasons and 3 very good seasons as a Halos pitcher be enough to get into the Halos HOF?

Salmon is the one that makes total sense, the current franchise leader in HRs, OBP, SLG%, and OPS and two top 10 MVP balloting seasons.
