IGNORED

The FBI just raided Jared from Subway's house

I always wonder what motivates people to do things like this. In his case I'm betting he just wants to make up for the experience that a 300 pounder doesn't get to have in high school.

I also wonder how low a 16 year old girl must feel to allow herself to be prostituted to a F-list celebrity when you can't even instagram about it.

And for anyone who accepted money to arrange the meetings, terminal jock itch sounds about right.

I agree that the penalty seems way too light but I'm at least comforted by the fact that his life is pretty much over.  However much time he spends in prison he won't be able to be in with the general population because of his crimes and who he is.  When he gets out his soon to be ex-wife and kids probably won't have much to do with him and unlike a non-celebrity molester/pedo people will recognize him when he walks down the street.

I believe he faces 50 years (30 for the sex, 20 for the porn). The prosecution likely doesn't want to have the then minors have to testify and be cross examined and he has enough Subway money to pay for a decent defense. The judge likely will pick a sentence between the defence and prosecution but isn't beholden to.

The story just seems to be getting worse here. At first it was him having sex with 16-17 year old girls which is bad enough. But now it's coming out that this guy has pictures and video (that were taken from hidden cameras) of girls as young as 5 and 6.

I don't get how f'ed up you must be to be into this kind of stuff. Or what clicks in your head that it's OK to even look at this stuff in the first place.

He pleaded rather quickly. I bet there were more minors involved and wanted to close the investigation. If more girls come forward, could he be charged? Or will the plea deal exonerate him?

The plea deal must only cover the children in the current case. The DA cannot negotiate away the rights of other plaintiffs.

I have never understood sexual attraction to children.

I had a coworker several years ago, a correctional officer who worked the night shift in the prison where I worked nights in the medical unit. He was a bit of a loner and more than a little strange, but I would never have pegged him as someone who was into child pornography. He had a girlfriend (which is another thing that I never would have guessed) who was using his computer one day and she ran across his major stash of kiddie porn. She turned him in to the police. Last that I heard, he was enjoying the luxurious amenities of the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.

A troubled friend is serving 15 years in Federal prison, not for possession of child pornography, but attempting to produce it.

He sent a disposable camera and sex toy to what he believed was an underage girl he met on AOL chatrooms who was really an undercover cop.  I think they got him on Federal charges because he mailed the items through the post office.

After release in a few years he faces another 8 years of supervised release.  They seem to be setting him up to fail because he has to reimburse the Feds for random drug/alcohol tests and mandatory mental health services, yet will be prohibited from owning or using any device capable of connecting to any computer network, internet or intranet.  That also applies to the workplace.  I can't imagine finding work anywhere where there isn't at least minimal computer usage.

At our sex abuse seminar last week the facilitator mentioned how it is not a good sign when men like their women completely shaved.
