yep, Scioscia is GM

The Angels are shifting staff roles, taking responsibilities away from Dipoto hires and handing it to Scioscia hires: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/angels-670211-hamilton-team.html â€¦

The Angels have shifted further front-office roles since Dipoto’s resignation.

Jeremy Zoll, the team’s 25-year-old coordinator of advance scouting, is no longer manning the instant-replay booth for the Angels on this trip, as he had this season. Instead, filling that role are two baseball lifers who will expand their duties with the team: batting-practice pitcher Mike Ashman and minor-league hitting coordinator Paul Sorrento.

The other, larger part of Zoll’s job had been to condense hours of video and pages of scouting reports on every major-league player and team into easy-to-understand packets for the coaching staff. That part of his job is not expected to change and neither is his title.

Rico Brogna, the team’s player information coach since August, will have a role and title change. Hired by Dipoto, his job had essentially been to scout the Angels and attempt to combine his experience and analytical familiarity to present takeaways to staffers and players.

He also will no longer travel with the team. Scioscia said only that Brogna “is going to do some scouting for us.”

I believe Rico was the clubhouse leak. If true, being simply remove from the traveling team and sent on a different assignment is a whole lot better than fired.

This sounds like the baseball equivalent of suddenly not being invited to meetings anymore. He may only be around until his replacement is hired.

We understand your position Poozy, we really do.  However, there is no garbage pickup scheduled for tonight, and you have an easy night ahead of you.  Richards isn't playing and Trout will only bat about four times.  I guess you could watch the whole game hoping he makes some great plays, but that seems like a waste of time.

So, Paul Sorrento who came into the organization as minor league hitting instructor after Dipoto took over is a Mike Scioscia hire?
