Maybe Dipoto wasn't the right person for the position based on personality or judgment.

That said, the next GM hired this offseason must be as analytical as Dipito, if not more so.

Except they signed him for the league minimum (while we paid the rest) to pinch hit off the bench and help give some veteran presence to a young playoff bound team. 

 

We signed him to replace Trumbo's power and be our starting DH.
