It is extremely simplistic to view this as a singular issue, as in, a girl with bad grades are what could cause the downfall of affirmative action.

I'd support getting rid of affirmative action only if universities got rid of legacy admissions (i.e. admitting a student because their family has a history of attending that school and/or is rich).
