Haven't read the article, but this is the first year that Albert has been worth the money. I suppose in 2012, when he was only making $12M he was worth the money. But more realistically we need to look at average per year, which is $25M, and as far as the market goes this is the only year that he's come close to that.

Meh, is what it is AJ. Nobody that hits free agency is ever really worth it, not in the post steroid years (sometimes guys like grienke come along). But its the same as buying a house, it all comes down to market. Youre 'worth' whatever some other guy is willing to pay.

I tend to look at the total picture.  Not only what he does on the field, but he's good in the clubhouse, and from ownership's point of view, he's a revenue generator.  He sells jerseys, tshirts, puts people in seats. 

 

I think Albert is well worth the money.
