This FO aquired Street (and Gott) when we were desperate for a closer. Things have been fugly since 2009? They're responsible for putting together a team that had the best record in mlb last year.

Luckily hit the jackpot on Trout? How many teams passed on him? The FO wanted him and deserve all the credit for drafting him when most of mlb passed on him.

Freedom to acquire young arms? What does that even mean? I guess the Astros were lucky they had the freedom to make high draft choices for a decade. And the Giants were lucky they had the freedom to draft Bumgarner in 2007.

Not sure how that's relevant, really.  Sure, Joyce is younger, but he hasn't been good for basically an entire season now.  After the All-Star break last year, he hit .226/.344/.314.  This year, he's at .182/.272/.313.  He can still take a walk every now and then, but signs seem to point to him being on an overall decline as a hitter.  His isolated power is way down over the last two years compared to his previous seasons, and he just seems lost at the plate in general.

Joyce had a decent-ish May.  In June, he's back down to .173/.295/.269.  Is that "better" than his April?  Yep.  Still stinks.  And there are certainly examples of guys who just lose it for seemingly no particular reason.  We're not talking about a Miguel Cabrera here, anyway.  We're talking about a guy who had a couple of okay seasons 3-4 years ago.
