I watched the video ..: he could of easily avoided getting hit. What a chicken shit thing to do!

Back in 2012 when Phil Humber got a perfect game oe of the Mariners players did the exact opposite thing and casually jogged to first base to get thrown out for the 27th out of the game when he could have beaten the throw (uncaught third strike)

Looking at the video of the last three outs of Bunning's perfecto, it seems the ump was very generous on called strike two to the last Met's hitter. The ball looked way outside.

The strike zone is a part of the rules and rules don't matter. Unless they are unwritten.

That's the good and classy thing to do. I mean can you even imagine the game of baseball today without Phil Humber's perfect game?!? It would have been a travesty to deny the world of sport such a memorable moment.

I give it 4 out of 5 Jeters.

That's not exactly what happened. It was a 3-2 count and Humber threw a pitch about two feet outside of the zone. The hitter, Brendan Ryan, started to swing but held up. But the chickenshit ump still called it a swing. The ball only got like 15 feet away from Pierzynski. Ryan started towards first because he thought he walked and when he realized it was called a swing he turned to argue. Seeing that ball wasn't cleanly caught he turned back to run to first but then realizing he had no chance he stopped and started arguing more. He didn't casually run on a dropped third strike. He was cheated of a walk and extending the game so Phillip Humber's grandkids would have something to remember him by.

Umpire got caught in the moment and made a bad call. It's amazing how often this seems to happen.
