Jaws is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time

I was in California with my parents in 1975. We toured Universal Studios Hollywood the week that Jaws was released. That was all that anyone wanted to talk about.

As a kid, I was at the beach on Martha's Vineyard where they filmed a lot of the scenes. Felt surreal to see so many familiar sites, and those striped cabanas.

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow (Father's Day) so I might go to the theater to see Jaws on the big screen. Might ruin the beach season for the kids though

Love that movie, started my obsession with sharks as a kid

It speaks volumes that Jaws still makes up part of the Universal Studios backlot tour 40 years after it was released.

It's really a great movie. The fact that you don't see the shark for so long and the affect it Jason people is amazing. Just great story telling.

It is an iconic movie, that stands the test of time.  I love it for all the scenes around the water and boating; the final battle with the shark is just icing on the cake...

For the record, it's one of the few movies I prefer over the book.

 

It's back in theaters for a 40th anniversary showing!

I knew that they called the shark Bruce on the set, but never linked the name of the Finding Nemo great white to it.  Very cool.

What Happened To the 'Jaws' Victim From the Iconic Opening Scene?

 

 

I think she was right in telling Spielberg how to film his movie.
