Really depends on the reasoning. The Kings have been overly loyal to a fault so I can't see them doing it for the hell of it. It may be a pragmatic thing with wanting a captain to play more than 3rd/4th line minutes. Or wanting other players to have the responsibility to increase their accountability <cough> Doughty<cough>. Not sure. It wouldn't surprise me if Brown himself requested this, holding himself accountable for last season. It's curious but probably overblown in terms of importance.

wow. and after just singing him to 8 year deal.

i think it's to pave the way to move him. psychologically easier to do when he's not the captain i would imagine.

doughty is awesome. any team would kill to have him.

he's not worthy of the norris this year (or any previous year), but he's awesome. 

he'll likely get it eventually though i would imagine.

I just want Brown traded, after thanking him for all he has done for the org.   But how much money will any team absorb to take him on?

wow, what an interesting development. wonder why it happened. there are plenty of critics out there who don't think he deserved it, but most fans haven't got the foggiest idea of what kind of captain he's been. 

he'll always be the first king to have been handed the cup - that's pretty damn special and a wonderful moment in time.

just saw that jake muzzin made team canada for the upcoming tournament in september.

yay jake! and LOL that he's one of the top seven defensemen for canada, especially considering someone like subban was omitted from the team.
