i think mark laid it out well. the original intent relates to a militia. private ownership doesn't seem to be the same thing. 

 

i think the other amendments have been updated pretty well over the years. the second amendment seems to hit a sore spot with a lot of people in a different way.

The way I look at it is the 2nd amendment has had its share of interpretations and updates. Most done at the state level. There are many that want it eliminated all together, hence the reason it stirs up so many emotions. Once we give up our rights (whether you support that right or not) they are gone forever. I've seen some reports that he went in saying he wanted to kill some blacks, and he went to a place where he knew there would be some blacks.  I think that they were Christians was probably not a factor in his choice, but if I'm wrong I'll accept that.

He had a Christian background. Someone on another site posted an obituary of his grandmother who belonged to a Baptist church in SC. I haven't seen any indication that he was a churchgoer himself.

This was one of the first things I wondered about was him picking that particular church.  I had been in that neighborhood before and don't think he lived around the corner.  He could have gone to any church but likely the local yokels knew the history of that one.
