  Please disregard the previous e-mail concerning Obama and Hillary Clinton's visit to Los Angeles. Be advised that these are two separate events to take place. 
 
 Obama Visit:
      "Please see the CBSLA.com news article regarding President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s visit to Los Angeles.  The President will be arriving Thursday afternoon and leaving Friday morning and Hillary Clinton will be arriving Friday morning. We can expect traffic delays throughout the west side beginning Thursday afternoon and again on Friday morning.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) â€” Commuters, plan accordingly – President Barack Obama and presidential hopeful and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be in town this week for several fundraisers.

The president is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International  Airport at 2:20 p.m.Thursday, just in time for the evening rush hour. Obama is expected to attend a pair of Democratic National Committee fundraisers – a roundtable discussion hosted by producer/director Chuck Lorre in Pacific Palisades and a reception/dinner at the Beverly Hills home of filmmaker Tyler Perry.

Motorists in the West Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades and Beverly Hills areas can expect sporadic road  closures as the president’s motorcade moves through the area. Obama typically gets to and from the airport via helicopter, but is still driven on city streets to reach his destination.
Obama is scheduled to spend the night in Southern California, then return to LAX for an11:40 a.m. Friday departure to San Francisco, where he will attend more fundraisers and speak at the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The traffic woes will likely continue with Clinton’s visit. She is expected to attend a luncheon event  at the home of Westfield Corp co-CEO Peter Lowy and his wife Janine; a late-afternoon event at the home of HBO executive Michael Lombardo and husband Sonny Ward; and an evening event at the home of actor Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer, according to Variety."
 
Demonstration: 
Here is the following information regarding the demonstration that will take place on Thursday, June 18th:

    -          This is an SEIU / Justice for Janitors event
-          The union will have 10-12 busses dropping people off at Roxbury Park (we have heard unofficial sources claiming larger numbers)
-          People will be gathering at Roxbury Park from 11am – 11:45am where there will be speeches to kick off the march
-          The march will begin at 11:45 and we believe the route will be as follows:
o   West on Olympic
o   North on Century Park East
o   West on Santa Monica Blvd to Century Park West (planned conclusion)
o   The route and end point are subject to change
-          There are no plans for civil disobedience

We should expect that there could be some traffic delays as the group moves through intersections.  We should also anticipate that the group could move from the side walk to the lanes of traffic that would add to any delays.
 
Universal Protection Service management will be on hand to monitor activity and provide updates as necessary.  We will also remain in regular communication with LAPD who will also be on hand monitoring the activity."

Just laughed my ass off watching the morning news when the news dude was interviewing a pastor at south-central church with regards to the shootings in Charleston.  The news dude:  "President Obama will be in town later today, any plans for him to visit your church in the aftermath of these shootings?"

 

Loooooooong pause.  Pastor:  No.  No plans yet, but I'm sure he's praying with us.

 

Yeah, the Fundraiser-in-Chief don't care unless you live on the west side and can host him a $25K/person fundraiser with star power.  Preferably, Clooney in da house.

Oh, and the traffic will be miserable once again on the Westside.

Good to see that he will not break his perfect record of fundraising trips to Los Angeles, without discussing a damn thing about improving Los Angeles.

Sunset Blvd closed from 5 to 7 pm for miles. Other major streets closed.. The little people can sit there for a few hours in traffic.
