This sounds like it's going to get real ugly.

Seems like the city of Glendale really wants the coyotes out.  Phoenix to Vegas, Florida to Seattle. Conferences are now even and divisions can be even once expansion happens (expansion clearly shouldn't happen now with Coyotes and Panthers in existence).

I think if anything, Seattle just got a team.  Remember, they have new ownership.  Moving to Vegas would not work unless the new owners are going to sell to Foley.  He's done all the legwork and them some to get a team to Vegas.

I think Florida is the one that is moving to Vegas.  Although the Florida team is beginning to entrench himself in a losing proposition.

roll the ugliness. the city voted to cancel the lease tonight.

For the Coyotes, this may be a blessing in disguise.  Seattle will outbid Glendale, the Coyotes will get a better fanbase, and Glendale can save the $15 million and try to balance their budget.  In the end, while it probably will be ugly, it will be a win win for everyone.  All the parties just have to realize that it will be a win win.  As long as the NHL doesn't go full retard and think that expansion is a better option than relocation.

Are the Yotes and Phoenix now best buds to get a new arena downtown?

And I seriously feel old that a 1995 arena is approaching obsolescence in the NBA...

Is that how old that arena is?  Man, when they were talking obsolete, I was thinking 70's or even 80's building.  20 years and already obsolete.  Why the F would anyone want to build a stadium, let alone any city want to help fund one?

Nordiques were awesome.

Stasney brothers, Forsberg, Normand Rocheford, Michele Bergeron, Sakic, Finn, Goulet, Hunter, and the immortal Ron Tugnutt

I once attended a game between the Habs and the Nordiques at the old Quebec Colisee. It was probably the equivalent of watching the Bears vs the Packers. Very intense fans from start to finish.
