Gameday Thread: Angels @ Rays (6/9/2015)

`

A guy who can't lead off is hitting leadoff.

A guy with Hall of Fame numbers is hitting third because...well, there's the Hall of Fame numbers.

A guy who hits much better leading off and not very good batting fourth....is batting fourth.

6-7-8-9 is the definition of mediocre.

But, what can you do?

Pujols has been the second best player on this team and you are still complaining about him hitting second?

Seriously?

The Big Catorce's insistence on batting Aybar leadoff is probably my least favorite thing he's done during his tenure here. It absolutely defies logic and yet he keeps doing it.

Top three OBP's on the team belong to Trout, Johnny G, and Calhoun. It makes sense to set the table with them, but no....

First, Gio has slowed down trememdously from his good start.  Second, when Calhoun was leading off the offense absolutely sucked and there were plenty of people on this site crying that Sosh wasn't mixing it up.

He does but the offense still sucks.

I guess if you need something to complain about beyond the fact that the roster sucks, go ahead.

I think it's legitimate to complain about a leadoff hitter with an OBP barely above .300 who takes a walk about every 20 at-bats, while at least two other players are arguably better choices.

weren't you one of the folks suggesting that Calhoun could be more useful further down the lineup so he could drive in runs?

Also, you were also complaining about Pujols hitting third when he's been hitting pretty damn well.
