Trout is back to his usual ways

Recommended Posts

Always takes the first pitch and usually gets behind in the count and he's unable to make contact consistently with the high fastball and breaking ball. He's on pace to surpass his strikeout number last year 170+. He's still one helluva ball player.

Trout is like a supermodel who peaked at 21 and now we're seeing some of the cottage cheese. He's still hot and all of us would bang him if we had the chance but now we're seeing some of the flaws.

LOL - actually this is pretty true.

Glen, you need to write an article titled "Trout's Cottage Cheese."

Math fail. Trout struck out 184 times last year and is on pace to strike out about 150 times this year.

Yeah if only Trout could just figure it out at the plate... That's probably the Angels biggest hole in the line up, well, besides Pujols, of course. Trout just strikes out too much to be any use. What good is he if he's only on pace for 9.6 WAR and a 159 OPS+?

Speaking of his OPS+ it's really slipping... Year by year from 168 to 179 to 167 to 159. I mean jeez. That line drive he hit in last nights game wasn't even in the gap. What's he thinking? When he hits sharp line drives they shouldn't be right at the outfielder... His aim is way off.

People need to stop obsessing over strikeouts. Players who walk and hit for power usually strikeout a lot.

Bryce Harper, Joc Pederson, Paul Goldsmidt all have similar or worse K percentages than trout. I doubt their fans care.
