Trumbo has only 9 Ks in 50 at bats so far.

Outside of the first game of the season and his first AB against Yu Douche he has looked pretty good.  He seems to be improving with each game.  He just missed a HR yesterday.

considering his 2nd half last year, and his pretty crappy spring, I've actually been encouraged by Trumbo's start.  He's always going to have some awful-looking ABs, but if he can stay close to this K-rate, he's going to be great for us.

I was expecting bad things from Trumbo this year and so far he's doing well.  Hope he keeps it up!

By his stats, it appears he is simply looking for pitches away and is making contact with them. Pitchers are then more willing to come inside. If he guesses correctly as to when, the ball will eventually leave the park. I like that he is adjusting, shows promise. 

 

I might add that when he guesses incorrectly and the pitcher throws a nice slider, as in Yu, he, or anyone else will look lost from time to time.
