Josh blaming more people....

Recommended Posts

Even if we were to legalize every drug tomorrow, I don't think anyone would agree that doing drugs in excessive amounts to the point where it controls and ruins your life and potentially harms other people are positive. The same way we recognize drunk driving and alcoholism as things with negative effects on people, while being fine with moderate and responsible alcohol consumption.

Hamilton had addiction issues to the point where he had been suspended and had been placed on a MLB treatment plan. Under those circumstances it was entirely reasonable for him to be compelled to agree not to use drugs in order to remain employed. He went back on that deal, period. And he did so in such a way that he could not be held culpable for his actions or even ordered to get treatment or other supportive measures to keep the situation from potentially getting worse for him. That's the issue.

How is Arte to blame in all of this?  Two things of importance in the contract with Hamilblow....

1.  The Angels gave him a sh** ton of money to perform on the baseball field

2.  He needed to stay clean

Hamilblow is still getting all of the money promised to him by Arte, while he managed to not perform on the field, and managed not to stay clean.

Yep, Arte is to blame in all of this.

“I thought it was pretty funny, after my third at-bat of the first game, I got booed,” Hamilton said. “I’m like, seriously? I’m out for a month, put all kinds of poison in my body to even attempt to play, and get booed.

Healing medications are poisons, but cocaine is just a weekend party.

That's probably the reality of things. Perhaps Josh was treated differently by the Angels FO and owner than the Rangers. Will they maximize what's left of his playing ability?

We will see.

The angels ownership has had a lot of problems maximizing the ability of any free agents, not just Hamilton.

Makes you wonder where the problem really lies

I think the counselors on Intervention would have told Arte to do the same thing. I have yet to see a show where the intervention is not confrontational. I guess professional athletes are treated different.

In most companies does the CEO fly to your state, take you to dinner and woo your family into joining his business?

I don't think it's unreasonable that he'd want to discuss his struggles with Arte. It's clear Arte disliked him before the relapse.

if the company is recruiting someone that he's going to pay $25 million a year, you better believe the CEO would do that.

Hell, college coaches do that for 16 yr old kids

I wonder if DiPoto also kept Hamilton from speaking to his wife before she filed for a divorce? I guess Hamilton hasn't hit rock bottom yet. Isn't blaming other's for your problems one of the symptoms of addiction?

Can't wait for his return to Anaheim!!
