Orange County Register: Angels catcher Chris Iannetta starting to see a light at end of dark tunnel

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have been complaining about Iannetta's inability to catch base stealers, it isn't your imagination. According to these statistics from ESPN, Iannetta is 21st among 23 qualified rated catchers in CS percentage at .150, throwing out three of 20 attempted base stealers. Only Rene Rivera of the Rays and Miguel Montero of the Cubs are worse at .143. He is eighth in the all-important CERA at 3.68.

And with Jett Bandy tearing it up in SLC (.364, .390, .545, .935) that light should be getting even dimmer.

I appreciate what Iannetta has done for us over the past few years, but it looks like he is done and we actually have potential replacements.

if he was sporting close to 370bp....then maybe he keeps in the line up with that D.   that was kinda the selling point on him.    i am fully ready to move on from him and never look back.  his at bats this year are almost as bad as hamiltons last year...maybe not that bad.
