That's not really the point. When was the last time you saw any action movie where the victor was in doubt?

 

sure the victor is usually not in doubt but give me Bourne or Mad Max where the main lead gets the complete crap kicked out of him in a sweet fight that does not involve lame supernatural powers and crap one line explanations as to why some supernatural power defeated the evil guy when he looked completely invisible.

 

The genre is just tiresome.
