Hamilton sent video of him hitting to the Rangers in early March

I doubt it on both counts. He will have a lot of pressure on him considering how poor the Ranger's offense is. We all know hiw well he handles pressure.

He can take all the swings in the world in a batting cage. That doesn't mean he'll be able to stop himself from swinging at breaking balls out of the zone.

If he can get himself to do that, he might be a quality player once again.

LOL. So Arte is allowed to be extra mad at the druggie he offered $125MM to because the druggie agreed to put wording in the contract that stayed he wouldn't be a druggie but when it came out that he was still a druggie he didn't immediately offer to reject the contract.

The wording put into the contract, as I have seen it, talks about not being physically or mentally ready to perform sure to drugs. That would be terribly hard to prove and it doesn't seem like Hamilton's relapse has made him unable to perform. He just sucks.

A player can't tamper with himself.

This could have hurt the Angels by reducing their leverage because the Rangers knew how much Hamilton wanted to play for them.

Or it could have helped the Angels by letting the Rangers know he could play, facilitating a deal that eventually saved them $20M.

I think Josh is pretty much a douche and all, but if the team basically told him to piss off in Feb and he was trying to rehab, wouldn't you find someone to look at your swing?  Someone who knows you?

i imagine a lot of players consult their friends for help in the off season. in the NHL, there are quite a few guys from several different teams that work out together here in LA at the toyota center every summer.

Right--or potentially even if the team would have responded to Hamilton sending the video. Otherwise, what's to stop Trout from sending the Mariners a video and getting them popped for tampering?

If Young was in the capacity of a hitting unstructor it could be a turn your head and cough. But that is not his role with the Rangers, the only team Hamilton would agree to be traded to.
