I guess my question is has there been a bigger issue in Angels history that has brought up so much venom between fans.

I don't remember seeing so much division over an issue but maybe it's just me.

Name change was a bigger divide between fans.

 

This one really doesn't have the venom between fans (you and a small group excepted). 

 

The huge venom is between Arte and fans vs. the rest of the country.  The national press and the blogosphere is murdering Arte.

Well...in thinking about this more, yes, I can see where everyone is coming from.

 

And what this author says in the last paragraph or so? Okay, that perhaps could have been expressed better. Or not at all. I would never wish harm on a person and I sincerely hope that Hamilton never comes to a bad end due to his drug habit. However...he's right that the stakes are high for any addict.

I honestly don't get what's wrong with predicting that Hamilton will die prematurely because of his drug habit.   That's all he did there - predict.  That's not "wishing harm."  It's predicting it as the inevitable consequences of being an addict who is enabled at every step.

 

The only wish was that when Hamilton does kill himself, he doesn't take any innocent lives with him.
