Has Joyce hit the ball hard(even for an out) just once this season? Seems like every AB is a strikeout, a weak grounder or a weak popup/flyball out

Joyce only slugged .383 last season but I thought he'd at least bring some OBP.

i know i'm late to this train, started watching the game a little late (because of the weird start time) and had to catch up to the live coverage...

but man, i'm really struggling with Matt Joyce. it's not just his (lack of) offense but when he's out in the field it seems like he doesn't even try to beat out some of those fly balls that drop in front of him. or is he just that slow on his feet? I didn't watch him a lot before he came here so i don't have a great frame of reference on him prior to spring of this season.

I cannot see the game, and have been following periodically on gameday.  There have been no less than 8 pitches that gameday shows to clearly be in the zone that have been called balls.

it blows my mind that the A's demoted Chavez from starter. they probably would have been better off starting him in the WC game over Lester.
