"Well I thought there were a lot of positives to build on today.  Barry Enright did a hell of a job pitching to contact, the ball was exploding out of his hand.  Wellsy almost made a gold glove caliber catch in the 1st but the wind just was too much, he was able to valiantly fight off the sun and wind to rob that guy of a single in the 2nd though.  It was good to see Wellsy get his feet wet out there, after last season there was some concern after he got so many splinters on his ass, but Dr. Yocum and I took care of that.  Wellsy showed true grit hustling out a single in his 1st AB and stealing a base, and later with his triple.  We liked the way he looked in the two hole.  We're going to tip our caps and turn the page to a talented Oakland Athletics team today though.  February baseball is more important than April baseball but March baseball is more important than February baseball.  The Cactus League championship is still in sights, we're hoping to get our regulars some looks to get us there and then rest them up for next spring."

It was a squad of minor leaguers Wells and Trumbo. What do expect Fab, some sort of amazing game full of highlights? A shutout from a bunch of guys that had poor ERAs in AA nad AAA?

I know you think this stuff is witty but in the big picture of how teams get ready for a season you come off as a stupid troll.

Spring training games, especially early ones, are all about seeing what the kids can do, even some who you are pretty sure won't make the roster when the big club breaks camp. Dropping a game on February 24 is hardly a catastrophe. The field staff already has a pretty good idea of what their major leaguers can do. Going all out to win spring training games isn't something you are going to see a lot of clubs do.

Maybe the people who go to these games are high rollers who drop $10k on regular season baseball games (spread out across 6 casinos, of course) and money isn't really an issue for them.

I automatically assume this to be true for most fans on this website.
