Decent upside, great player to have in AAA, especially given the Angels LF situation.  Should be fun to see what comes of this.

Worst case scenario, he's depth where the Angels lack some.  Best case scenario, he gets promoted and playing with his hometown team revitalizes him.  Has the upside to be a good leadoff hitter. 

 

I think likely scenario, he bounces between AAA and the Angels, and is a very dangerous pinch runner.

He has talent, but from what I heard he has never been coach-able at any level. I hope he gets it soon.

I doubt he's going to get it any time soon. He's been in the Giants system for 4 years and he still is unwilling to take a different approach. He has his mind made up on what he thinks he should be doing and unfortunately the teams have thought differently. He comes off as a stubborn kid who thinks he knows more than his coaches do.

When you're 26 and have a .684 OPS over 282 games at AAA that's probably a pretty good sign that you're not actually that good. They're probably thinking September callup as a pinch runner/defensive replacement and he's obviously someone who could make the postseason roster if we get there.

Both first round picks. Both from SoCal. Drafted one year apart. Obvious name similarities.
