Forgot to post this yesterday but I was drowning my sorrows filling up urine balloons for the soccer game.

Five decades and Univision pulls the plug on Don Francisco and El Chacal.

The show was amazing how it made it to 1970 and stayed in that decade for fourty years. Not a bad run for a Jewish kid that first wanted to be a tailor in Nueva York.

Show will always remind me of growing up with my grandparents and when we would watch Saturday evenings.

 

I didn't know the Chacal wasn't on the show anymore. Hopefully they bring him back for one more segment.

A lot of changes at Univision lately. I used to watch Tu Desayuno Alegre while I was getting ready for work. They had Valentina Patruno and Ximena Cordoba (who often wore dresses and skirts that left little to the imagination) plus the music videos had women in scanty clothing as well. Then they shipped Ximena off to Despierta America, changed the name of the show to Tu Dia Alegre, keeping Valentina and adding Anabelle Blum (who is OK, but not nearly as hot as Ximena). Now the show is off the air altogether and they run a soap opera in that time slot.

 

Damn it.

Sabado Gigante = Giant Sabbath?

 

Sabado is Spanish for Saturday, so it means literally Big (or Huge/Giant) Saturday. When I studied Spanish I thought the same thing, that Sabado = Sabbath so it must be Sunday - but it isn't. Domingo is Sunday.
