Good start by Weaver

I'm as big a fan of Weaver as anyone, and I don't want to take anything away from his performance, but do you think being the Astros might have something to do with it?

I wasn't watching the game so I don't know. I'll feel better when I see some good pitching versus the A's or Texas.

Considering how the Stros have hit against the Angels the past few years I'd say it's an accomplishment. I mean, he got absolutely trounced by the Royals at home. I wouldn't say they have an intimidating lineup.

I'll take any good outings from him at this point.

The Stros as a team are hitting .207, which is good for dead last in the mlb.

How hard was he throwing?

I think facing the Astros had a lot to do with it. He made progress, but left a good amount of pitches up in the zone.

To be fair, though, the Astros do have their fair share of guys who can kill pitches up in the zone. At least one who is REALLY good at it.
