If we put some talent around Calhoun and Trout...

Recommended Posts

And right on cue, Calhoun makes yet another outstanding diving catch in right field to end the inning.

Those two out in Center and Right really are special.  If Trout had some real lineup protection, he could break many records.

Im good with Aybar too though.  He gives you adequate production at short along with stellar defense.  I dont see many other bright spots in this lineup though.

I get what you're saying QM but it's not like they pitch around Trout.

Pujols is still somewhat of a threat.  But if he keeps declining towards a .750 OPS player, best believe they Trout will get less and less pitches to hit.

We acquired a closer last year at the deadline.  This year id love to pick up a bat, if we have anything left in the farm.

They aren't yet, but they should, and they will eventually.

Down in the count 3-1 with 1 out, a runner on second, and Pujols on deck, why even pitch to him a that point.

Next pitch, BLAMO! Over the fence. Pujols dribbler to shortstop.

Wednesday the Angels scored 10 runs, 8 slit evenly between Pujols, Joyce, Freese and Giavotella.

1. It was against bad pitchers and aided by sloppy defensive play.

B) Giavotella is the only one of that bunch that is batting over two fifty.

Other than those two things, spot on.

Why do people continually try to put Trout 3rd in the lineup? At this point it's been pretty well established that teams score the most runs with their best hitter hitting second.

Probably because it actually is still debatable and NOT been pretty well established.
