Reading this reminded me of an article that came out a year or two after Johnny Carson retired. He also didn't miss it at all and I can't really blame him. You are on the biggest stage in American Sport for 20 years which means that six months of each and every year you have literally no privacy. Forget about the pressure of playing every day, think of the annoyance of dealing with the media day in and day out. No thanks.
