Who is Wilk?

I saw his name as pitching two innings today.  I don't remember him on the roster.  Was someone sent down?  I don't remember him during spring training also.  Where did he come from?

Sent Rucinski down after the game yesterday. He's just a warm body until Richards is activated later this week most likely

Basically he's a sidearmer that is paid to get lefties out now.

Through 2012, he was really solid in the minors with a 2.77 ERA for AAA Toledo in 2012.

But it appears that he missed all of 2013, and struggled in independent ball in 2014.

One run in Two innings of relief saving our bullpen for the tough Houston series. Forget Wilk for minute. Who the hell was that wearing hectors uni for seven innings today? That's who I thought we would see more of last year. I remember him Dominating us when he was with chi sox. A lot of his starts would have looked like this if Mike had taken him Out an inning earlier a few times last year. Maybe he has turned a corner? He really struggled on opening day and only gave up 3 runs. And I think if Hamilton is playing he catches that ball that led to runs 2-3. I will take six innings per of sub 4.00 era from Hector all year.

He's a Dirtbag!  With a very strange pre-pitch routine, where he lifts his front leg BEFORE coming set.  I wonder how many times he got called for a balk early on (I don't remember if he had the same routine at LB State; I'll have to ask around).

 

I thought he looked pretty good in ST.  Obviously good enough for a call-up.
