Why the Rangers should trade for Josh Hamilton

I suggested this last off season. At that time Texas might have traded Fielder straight up, but now Fielder is showing some life. Choo is a possibility, it would have to be an even swap.  I would rather play Hamilton than add on salary.

Confusing.....if you would rather "play Hamilton than add on salary", then you wouldn't trade him "straight up" for Choo or Fielder, both are owed more on their contracts than Hamilton...

just give them Hamilton, we'll pay this year's salary pursuant to his contract and they get him and the rest of the cost of the contract. Done.

If you need a player for appearances sake, trade a low level single -A prospect.......Doesn't even have to be a pitcher. A first baseman who throws and bats right-handed, they're a dime a dozen........Done.

You're right, confusing. I meant I would be in favor of dumping Hamilton for another bad contract but not paying down Hamilton's contract on top of that.

It appears that the Rangers (in the article's opinion) would pay 10 million a year or a total of 30 million for three years of Josh - leaving the Angels with 53 million owed. Your suggestion would have the Angels pay 23 million and the Rangers 60 million. I would love your proposal to be accepted.

Is it pretty much unanimous that nobody wants Josh Hamilton to play for the Angels again?

From the comments of that article it sounds like a lot of Ranger fans don't want him back either.

Speak for yourself ... I believe most of us would take a healthy productive Josh in the lineup,

I know I would
