Tanaka's stuff looks pretty awful.  Not a ton of movement or velocity.  Up in the zone.  Almost like he's babying his arm.

If Tanaka tanks, the Yanks are in big trouble. Sabathia had something like an 8.00 Spring ERA. Michael Pineda had a great Spring, but has not pitched a full year in the majors since 2011.

When his breaking balls actually broke they were good. He doesn't have a fastball to change speeds and eye levels of the batters though.

I'm pretty glad we didn't sign Tanaka, I'm guessing the Yankees wish they could take that contract back
