Once you see turtles with straws growing out of their noses a lobster with rubber bands just doesn't stir any interest.

fair enough.

we don't really have either issue in my world.*

*with the exception of asparagus growing inside a large rubber band all on their own. it's nature's way.

For how rare these colors are supposed to be.   There sure are a lot of news stories about them.

They do show up once in a while

But the odds are so great that it's really rare

Always enjoy these type of nature stories

Summer Olympics: Which countries have hosted the Games the most?

The Olympic Games as we know them today were first held in 1896, two years after the International Olympic Committee was founded.

The first Games were held in Athens. There were held from April 6 to April 15 and featured nine sports, 43 events and 14 nations. No women participated in the first Olympics and only 22 women participated in the 1900 Paris Games.

The 29th Olympic Games will be held this month in Tokyo. It’s the second time Japan has hosted the Olympics.

The Olympics were canceled three times – 1916, 1940 and 1944. World War I and World War II were the reasons. The 2020 Tokyo Games were pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Here are the countries that have hosted the Games the most.

United States: 4

The U.S. first held the Games in 1904 in St. Louis. The U.S. held it three more times after that in 1932 and 1984 in Los Angeles and in 1996 in Atlanta. The U.S. will host the Games for the fifth time in 2028.

United Kingdom: 3

The U.K. has held the Games three times. London has hosted each of the three times – 1908, 1948 and 2012.

Australia: 2

Australia has hosted the Summer Olympics twice. Melbourne first hosted in 1956 and later it was in Sydney in 2000.

France: 2

Paris has been the host city for two Olympics in France. The county hosted the second-ever Games in 1900 and then again in 1924. The Games will return 100 years later in 2024.

Germany 2

There have been two Summer Olympics in Germany. The first was held in 1936 and the second in 1972.

Greece: 2

Greece held the first-ever Summer Games in the modern era. Athens was the host city for both Games. The first took place in 1896 and the second in 2004.

Japan: 2

Japan is set to host the Summer Olympics for the second time this month. The first time came in 1964.

The group was fishing on the Fraser River in British Columbia when the incident occurred.

Even experienced anglers can be surprised from time to time.

A fishing tour operator shared a video on social media of a large fish leaping out of the water while being reeled in. Based on the reactions from the people on the boat, this isn’t something they see every day.

The Yves Bisson Sturgeon Co uploaded the video of the fish jump to its Instagram page. The moment has garnered 4.7 million views so far.

Teen graduates from college before graduating from high school

Ryland Dickman may only be 17 years old, but he’s already accomplished what some said was impossible.

Ryland, from Charlottesville, Virginia, graduated from college with his bachelor’s degree about two weeks before earning his high school diploma earlier this year.

"It feels really amazing. It's like everything I worked for in the past two or three years, it has finally happened and I reached a goal that I wanted to reach, so that feels really great," Ryland told Fox News.

In May, Ryland graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's in business administration, which he earned through the school’s online degree program, according to an announcement from the university. Ryland is the university’s youngest graduate to earn a bachelor’s degree at Liberty, the announcement reads.

About two weeks after he earned his bachelor’s, Ryland graduated high school from The Covenant School in Charlottesville.

It wasn’t easy for Ryland to reach both graduations.

"There were so many points in the journey where I thought I wouldn't be able to make it happen," Ryland said. "Because there were a lot of bureaucratic things that held me back at first."

He added that some admissions officers even told him, "No, you can't do that. It's impossible to graduate from college without a high school diploma."

However, he had just what he needed to get into Liberty – his associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College. It allowed him to transfer to Liberty without needing a high school diploma.

He earned that degree during his sophomore year of high school, in the fall semester of 2019, even though it was "kind of a hassle because they usually don’t let 10th graders in" for dual enrollment, Ryland said.

Dickman is pictured with his family. Now that he’s graduated from both high school and college, he plans to attend law school in Europe. He hopes to be an international business lawyer.

Driver tells tale after metal pole from other vehicle hits her windshield

Mandy Poff of Arizona says she hasn’t been able to sleep since a metal pole came crashing through the windshield of her SUV on Thursday morning, narrowly missing her as it pierced the back seat of her vehicle.

Poff says the mishap occurred while she was merging her vehicle onto Highway 51 in Mesa. The pole had popped off the back of a passing truck after it hit a bump in the road, FOX 10 of Phoenix reported.

She saw the four-foot-long piece of metal coming at her – but claims there was nothing she could do to avoid it.

"It kind of bounced on the road and flipped up straight through the windshield by my face," Poff told FOX 10. "Went up and lodged itself into my car and into my back seat.

"It went right by my face," she continued. "It was terrifying."

Delta Air Lines ranks number one in reliability and experience, putting it on top again for the third year in a row

Following Delta was Southwest Airlines, which came in second place. Allegiant Air, on the other hand, ranked as the worst airline.

Allegiant, which stood at last place, ranked poorly in terms of timeliness, cancellations and its no-frills experience, which included no Wi-Fi, entertainment, or outlets. The low-cost carrier also requires its passengers to be co-branded credit card holders in order to earn miles, which lead them to score near zero in loyalty.

1. Delta Air Lines

2. Southwest Airlines

3. United Airlines

4. Alaska Airlines

5. American Airlines

6. JetBlue Airways

7. Hawaiian Airlines

8. Spirit Airlines

9. Frontier Airlines

Top surgeon’s divorce from beauty queen settles after bombshell

A bitter divorce between a top New York City spine surgeon and his beauty-queen wife was quickly settled Monday — after he made tawdry accusations in court papers that claim she was moonlighting as a high-priced call girl.

Hospital for Special Surgery Dr. Han Jo Kim and former Miss Connecticut USA Regina Turner put their contentious split to bed before a public hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. could take place, Lucian Chalfen, spokesman for the state Office of Court Administration, confirmed.

The swift settlement followed a stunning 264-page filing in Manhattan Supreme Court, in which Kim, 41, alleged that his 32-year-old wife had pocketed nearly $700,000 in cash from johns since their Nov. 27, 2015, nuptials.

Kim decided to file for divorce in December 2020 after finding a racy text message from another man on a computer in the couple’s Upper East Side home, according to the complaint, filed earlier this month in Manhattan Supreme Court.

That has to hurt knowing that others are getting what she isn't giving you

so GB, if you're both jet pack man and a hiker, why don't you kill two birds with one stone and just jet pack up to the top of whatever peak you're planning to scale next? why create extra work for yourself?

Lake Mead, Hoover Dam face historically low water levels amid drought

The Hoover Dam is one of the National Park Service's most popular tourist attractions. The federal government is expected to declare a water shortage. (Ashley Soriano/Fox News)

Lake Mead, Hoover Dam face historically low water levels amid drought

As of June, Lake Mead’s depth is the lowest it’s been since 1937.

Lake Mead's highest potential water level is 1,229 feet – almost deep enough to submerge the Empire State Building.

In 1998, the lake was about 1,216 feet deep. That's compared to today's depth of nearly 1,069 feet.

"We’d like to see it entirely full. The last time the reservoir was entirely full was in the late 1990s, around 1998," said Doug Hendrix, the public affairs specialist for the Lower Colorado Basin for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, which oversees water management, is thinking about plans to conserve and store water.

"The Colorado River is the lifeblood for about 40 million people in the southwest including northern Mexico," Hendrix said. "Under full reservoir operations, we can generate enough power annually for about 600,000 households. Now we’re down to be able to generate power for about 450,000 households."

The federal government will likely declare a water shortage around mid-August.

That means less water available to parts of Arizona, Nevada, California and even northern Mexico.
