Crazy Mark Buehrle Stat

ESPN has an article about his HOF chances and was amazed by this stat.

"Buehrle also does the little things to help himself out: He's won four Gold Gloves, and last year he allowed just one stolen base. He's allowed just 59 stolen bases in his career -- while picking off 95 runners. That's a major reason his career ERA is below his FIP."

That being said I doubt he makes HOF though he is incredibly consistent. Article mentioned for 14 straight seasons with at least 30 starts and 200 innings.

If he can pitch to age 42 like Bartolo Colon, his numbers might look much better to HOF voters. Even two or three good seasons would put him on the cusp.

I saw one article about him and it said the statistical difference between him and a league average pitcher is entirely because of how well he fields his position and how bad most pitchers are at it.

hall of fame voters still put a good deal of weight on wins for a pitcher. i don't think he has enough to get in at this point, inspite of his other accomplishments.

Career 3.90 ERA regular season.  Career 3.80 ERA in the postseason..  4.87 in the ALCS and 2.96 in the WS... Guess you missed his playoff clunkers?  Doesn't really matter, his postseason heroics don't change the fact that Morris fell short of matching Buehrle's overall performance.  If singular postseason heroics = entry into the HOF then I guess there are a lot of worthy HOFers waiting for a call.
