Sorry, but aside from Trout he's their most valuable asset. MS has already said he'll probably be ready just after Opening Day but not before. They are going to be extra extra cautious with him.

 

but I should add, I do love the guy's attitude.

Richards has stated all along that he was going to be back for opening day. I understand being cautious with his injury and all, but if he is ready by opening day, then put him out there. This dude busted his ass to get back, let his confidence reap the rewards of meeting his goal.

Kid has his whole career ahead of him. No need to risk reinjury for a few extra starts.

There's no need to rush him, we have guys now that can make spot starts, we don't need to rely on the dreaded "bullpen game" anymore

I'm completely fine if he isn't activated until may
