Angels' Josh Hamilton could be out a month longer than expected

see how good you feel now?

that's because you don't have to pay him every two weeks because....

it's not your money

OK, you could be being ironic here, but if not this is just dumb logic. The Angels are paying Hamilton $25.4M this year, $32.4M a year in 2016 and 2017. Sure, that isn't our money but it DOES impact the ability of our favorite team in terms of payroll flexibility; this year is proof of that, as Arte clearly stated that the Angels would be working within a budget and they stuck to that. So yeah, not my money but Hamilton's contract certainly impacts my favorite team.

Funny how Josh's goal was invalidated before the season even began, before spring training even began. Such a joke.

I don't get why people are upset. This bay affects the Angels. Joyce is probably just as good as Hamilton at this point and it opens up a spot for Cron to DH. Whenever a lefty is on the mound put Cowgill in LF.

Hamilton being out is the opposite of a problem. I think at worst it's a slight inconvenience. The defense might suffer a little against RHP, and there might be a tick less HR power. But there will also be better defense against LHP and the OBP is going to come up in any scenario.

I call it a wash really. The only way this matters is if Hamilton comes back as good as ever, then we'll have missed two months of MVP production, but that's probably not coming back.

You really don't get why some are upset with Hamilton's continued inability to even come close to earning his contract? Is that really so much of a puzzler?

I mean, I hear you what you are saying - Josh hasn't been all that good and is easily replaced - but the anger, disappointment, and annoyance is, at this point, is simply and only about the fact that he's become a mockery of the star that he once was, and pretty much everything he does at this point is just further icing on the cake.
