Chicago West LL team stripped of world series title

last summer's american little league championship team has been stripped of its title for using players that were out of its district. they had a storybook run but apparently three of their kids were used in violation of the rules of little league baseball. the title has been awarded to the runner up team.

 

boy, the adults really failed in this one. those kids were stars and had an incredible experience. they even got invited to the white house to meet barry sotero.

That's the hell of it. All of the public accolades went to the team who broke the rules, while our local kids will be handed the trophy long after the magazine covers, the White House visits and the television appearances have gone by. They didn't get their due, and they were deprived of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by a group who decided to illegally load up going in.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has sought private donors to give championship rings to the Jackie Robinson West team stripped of the LLWS title for illegally expanding their territory. These young men demonstrated tremendous character both on and off the field, and Chicago will honor them as the champions they are. The memories they created will last a lifetime, and so will the championship rings they have earned."

 

By all means, let's give them the life lesson that if you cheat and get caught, somebody will tell you that it's OK and recognize you anyway.
