I see that Hector Olivera was finally ok'ed by MLB so he can be signed. Contract in the 50-75 million range expected. Dodgers, Braves, Padres, A's and Giants interested? Could this be Pence insurance for the Giants?

Read the first few paragraphs - I'd stay far away from this guy.

Tons of risk. Only letting him play against sub-par competition isn't a good sign, as well as his health. But he was murdering the ball in that competition, the way a major leaguer should if they're facing A-Ball level pitchers. But I also notice he's a free swinging dead pull hitter in those videos.

His upside is Alfonso Soriano in his prime, and that's what teams are paying for. His downside is he's a poor mans version of Cespedes, who is already highly questionable at the plate.

Given his age and the risks, I'd make an offer of 3 years, 25 million. That likely won't get it done but I'm taking the chance that his agent is completely lying about the 70 million as he's likely to do.

Dodgers offer $77 million for six years. Two other four year offers on the table with Hector possibly passing on the Dodger's offer for two years of arbitration and possibly more dollars if he is a star. I say take the $77 million
