Hamilton speaks

Man I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it...This guy is toast. He looked so lost all 2nd half and playoffs. I can't remember a player looking that confused at the plate for this long of a time at his age making a return to being a .290 hitter or so. I think his problems are mental and physical which bodes very poorly for the next 3 years. His bat speed isn't there anymore and he just can't adjust. I've seen enough of this player that I don't need to be fed this stupid crock of shit about how he's in the best shape of his life. He's done

I agree. With his approach and the swing abd miss in his game, I'll be surprised if he hits over .265

Main thing is him gettin some of his power back. He just isn't driving the ball like he used to. his opposite field power has completely vanished

You mean batting practice doesn't count?

If Hamilton doesn't hurt himself sliding into 1B and plays all season, I'm not sure it will be much of a race. I expect improvement from Trout in the K department since he's never displayed that sort of swing and miss in his entire career + he actually can recognize and adjust to certain pitches. Hamilton has the same swing geared towards a fastball and doesn't even take into account the situation or the count he's in. It's just the same approach regardless

"I'm in an 0-2 hole...welp, let's sit on fastball here"

"Tying run at 3B, 1 out....I'm going to get fastballs here"

"Winning run is in scoring position, here comes the fastball"

It might be a race to see who strikes out more this year, Hamilton or Trout.

But Mike will still put up the .300/30/100 numbers.

it would be his first time

hamilton has done it twice

i didn't feel the need to mention that since it had nothing to do with his post

You're right but I had to peek at Pujols numbers and I was floored at what I saw. I knew he was a great hitter but never really followed his career stats.

His first ten years he hit over 400 HR's and drove in over 1200 RBI's. His batting AVE, OBP, and OPS were off the charts.

It makes you wonder ... because Trout won't come close to those numbers in his first ten years.
