The Onion had a great headline a few years back that was something like, "Local man arrested for romantic-comedy-like behavior". It was just basically pointing out that every romantic comedy has a character that does really creepy/inappropriate/illegal stuff and the other character never freaks out or calls the cops.

One would only ask that question if they're trolling or doing a little bit of stalking themselves. Why else would anyone wonder such a thing? "Look, she seems scared and frustrated. Maybe she likes that."
