Is now at #30 with 1,331 wins.

 

Interesting possibility:  If he stays here for the rest of his contract plus 4 other seasons through 2022 (age 63 season), he would in all likelihood reach 2,000 wins with the Halos.   He needs 669 wins for 2,000 wins.

 

Only four managers in MLB history have at least 2,000 wins with one team.

Bobby Cox (Interesting in that he was fired during his first tour in Atlanta after 5 seasons)

That's not to say I would extend him automatically another 4 seasons.

If he does well the next 3 seasons through 2017, then I would extend him by 4 seasons. 

 

No more 10 year managerial contracts!
