1992 Angels

The hitting was bottom of the barrel, last in the AL in runs, hits, doubles, and BA/OBP/SLG/OPS.

The only thing good was SBs, 2nd with 160 (94 by Polonia and Curtis).

The pitching was middle of the road, and included Mike Butcher in the pen.

The one memorable thing that year was a tragic one, the bus crash.

That sums up the 90's for this team. That was the year I first started watching baseball so I wasn't really aware of too much (I was 5) but I can imagine if AW existed things would have been pretty hilarious.

I'm sure 90's Oracle would have imposed a self ban every day.

It would have been boring, like the Twins board. There were no real expectations in the 90s with a nice little run and collapse in 95.

I'm guessing there would maybe be 10 posters back then still talking about 86.

1992 was the last year before offense took off in 1993 to 2009.

Anyhow, the 90s were just horrible for the Angels. 1995 seemed to be a turning point, with that great outfield and a young lineup. But they crashed and burned in what was for me the worst game in the history of the Angels and simply didn't recover. But 1987-92 were especially depressing because the franchise was still trying to with old former stars. Consider the list of former stars that were Angels during that span of time:

Bill Buckner

Tony Armas

George Hendrick

Lance Parrish

Claudell Washington

Dave Winfield

Gary Gaetti

Hubie Brooks

Dave Parker

Von Hayes

Alvin Davis

Kelly Gruber

All stars in the 80s, all played for the Angels within the '87-92 era.
