Braves sign Jason Grilli

BOOOOOOOOO!

I am 100% against this move! Grilli might not be a closer anymore, but he could easily be a set up for Street.

He pitched well for us, and we could sign him cheap (compared to that Hackilton bum).

Angels need to keep a quality bullpen in order to win games, it's what led us to the playoffs this year, and what has kept us from the playoffs the 4 years prior.

I don't like what I've been seeing with teh bullpen. We got rid of both Jeppy and Jairo Diaz and now currently lack any bullpen guys that throw serious heat.

I think a big part of grilli helping turn the pen around was that his acquisition took Frieri out of the pen.

That was definitely a major, major part of it. Without Frieri the bullpen was already infinitely better. Still, Grilli was a very good pitcher for the Angels. In the postseason in particular the guy was rock solid.

My trust in Grilli was all but gone by the end. No way we should have spent that money on him when we have such extensive pitching depth.

One of Grilli's best attributes was that he got Frieri out of here.

Grilli will do fine in Atlanta. He will be a nice complimentary piece in a solid bullpen that includes one of the game's elite closers.

Yeah im sure he can. Im not saying we 'should' have kept grilli. I just am hesitant in breaking it up too much.

Street and smith are solid as hell, but we kind of struxk gold last year with jepsen, salas and grilli. 2 of those 3 are gone, and salas could go either way. I like morin a lot, but he is still young and could regress.

Like i said, im just hesitant to break up a strength after having be a weakness for so long

A lot of you are banking on Bedrosian to be good if (when) someone gets injured.

I'm not so confident about him. I'd feel better if one more veteran arm was acquired by the trade deadline, and Bedrock, Gott, and Reynolds can simmer in AAA

I agree with this 100% Bedrosian ended the season with a 6.52 ERA. I don't particularly have any trust in him as a solid reliever. Maybe in a year or two after some more AAA time, but not now.

We were stupid to let Darren Oliver go. I hope this turns out better.

There's no real way to tell. How he pitches in Atlanta may be quite a bit different than how he would pitch here next year, good or bad. What I like about this move is that are mean bullpen age has dropped. Yet, we still have the veteran leadership necessary for success.
